Allan worked as a Hospice volunteer and became inspired to study Nursing. He received his Nursing degree from Piedmont Community College in 2018. Numerous sketches of the concept depicted in this model, completed in 2018, appear in his workbooks across several years. It is thought that he wished to create this piece at half-life-size in bronze.
